Mhatre Building Collapses
In dombivli, on Friday morning a piece of a slab from 4 storage building collapses in Ramnagar.
The good part is no one gets injured in this incident.
According to officials of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC), 80 sq ft slab of the third and fourth floor of the Mhatre building collapsed at around 12.30 pm. During the incident, about 20 workers of the restaurant and eight shopkeepers were working on the ground once or twice on the second floor.

KDMC officials said that this building, which is located near Dombivli railway station, is more than 40 years old. There are eight shops on the ground floor, a one-time restaurant on the first floor and a wedding hall on the second floor.
The third and fourth floors are empty. After the collapse, officials of Ramnagar police station reached the spot and informed the KDMC ward office. Meanwhile, fire crews also reached the spot.
"The structure has not been listed as a dangerous building. However, we had sent a notice to the owner of the building last month, to which he was asked to do a structural audit of the structure. The owner has not audited so far, "said KDMC ward officer Chandrakant Jagtap.
He said that KDMC will destroy the third and fourth floor of the building.
"We did a temporary audit and decided to drop the third and fourth floor of the building. The rest of the floors are safe. Demolition will be on Friday. Meanwhile, we will move forward the legal process against the owner for negligence.
